1.1 The Functions of a Plant

This is a middle school agricultural literacy lesson plan (“The Functions of a Plant,” Lesson MS.PS.1.1) from the Pork Checkoff Middle School Food and Agricultural Literacy Curriculum. Students learn the basic structures and functions of the six major plant parts—roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds—through an interest approach, a group drawing and teaching activity, review questions, and a word-bank assessment.
