1.1 Where Is Agriculture

This primary-level lesson, “Where Is Agriculture?” from Unit 1: Production Agriculture (Food for America), introduces young students to the idea that agriculture is all around them. Through a read-aloud story about Maria and Cob, class discussion, and a drawing activity, students learn what a producer is, identify everyday items that come from agriculture, the three basic human needs met by agriculture, and how farmers care for land and animals.
