1.14 Safe Decisions
“Safe Decisions” is Activity 1.14 in the Teamwork unit of the Grow Your PALS Program Guide (The National FFA Mentoring Program). The lesson teaches PALS the five-step decision-making process and applies it to making good personal-safety decisions, using wearing a seat belt as the central example. It includes a guided discussion, a worked seat-belt scenario, an optional video or guest demonstration, and connection/wrap-up questions.

- Invite highway patrol or local police/sheriff out to demonstrate the importance of wearing a seat belt. -OR- Locate a video on the web discussing seat belt safety. Be sure to preview the video before showing it to your PALS to make sure it is a good example.
