1.17 Meal Match-Ups
This is Lesson 1.17 (“Meal Match-ups”) of the Grow Your PALS Program Guide, Field to Fork unit, a large-group mentoring lesson teaching young students about nutrition. Students interpret and discuss the food guide pyramid by sorting foods into groups, evaluating their favorite meals against the five food groups, and then plan a balanced meal menu. The lesson includes an interest approach, sorting activity, evaluation worksheet, charades review, and food group teaching cards.
