1.2 Plant Needs
This middle school lesson (“Plant Needs,” MS.PS.1.2) from the Middle School Food and Agricultural Literacy Curriculum teaches students the four basic plant requirements—light, air, water, and growing media—and how the process of photosynthesis works. Using a Me-You-Us Venn diagram activity, students compare their own needs to plant needs, take notes, and complete a fill-in-the-blank assessment, with optional extension experiments, FFA, and SAE activities.
