1.2 Safe Time Online
“Safe Time Online” is a 45-minute middle school lesson (Lesson MS.IAS.1.2) from the Middle School Food and Agricultural Literacy Curriculum that teaches students safe online engagement practices. Through an interest approach analyzing identifiable information in a photo, discussion, and an “Eye Witness News” review activity, students learn why people use the Internet, what social networking and social networking websites are, the dangers of social networking (stalking, bullying, legal issues, damaged reputation), and other Internet safety risks such as viruses, uploading videos, and illegal downloading of music.
