“The Impact of Progress” (Lesson MS.AST.1.2) is a middle school Food and Agricultural Literacy lesson that explores how agricultural research and technology have advanced over time and impacted society. Through interactive activities—comparing old and new technologies, a stand-up recognition exercise, and a hands-on apple comparison demonstrating research and genetic modification—students learn the concepts of technology and research and how agricultural innovations affect their daily lives.
