1.2 Top Crops
“Top Crops” is an upper elementary lesson from Unit 1: Production Agriculture (Food for America) that teaches students about their home state’s agricultural production. Through a news-report interest activity and a USDA-based activity sheet ranking each state’s cash receipts and top five commodities, students learn where their state ranks nationally and identify its leading agricultural products.
