1.6 Government Agency Karaoke
This middle school lesson, “Government Agency Karaoke” (Lesson MS.FS.1.6), teaches students about the government agencies that regulate the U.S. food supply—the USDA, FDA, FSIS, and EPA. Using a karaoke “e-Moment” activity, student teams write and perform original songs about an assigned agency to learn and teach each other the agencies’ roles in food safety. The lesson is part of the Middle School Food and Agricultural Literacy Curriculum (Food Science: Consumer Awareness – Field to Fork).
