1.6 Presenting on Agricultural Issues
This middle school lesson, “Presenting on Agriculture Issues” (MS.AI.1.6) from the Pork Checkoff Middle School Food and Agricultural Literacy Curriculum, teaches students to develop an outline of an agriculture issue, identify the characteristics of quality presentations (especially nonverbal communication), and deliver a group presentation on an agriculture issue. Students work in groups to create outlines and posters, then present and are scored using a provided rubric. Included support materials cover agriculture issue topics such as animal rights/welfare, biotechnology, waste management, and organic agriculture.
