2.1 Exploring Plants – They Are More Than Just Food

This is a middle school agricultural literacy lesson (Lesson MS.PS.2.1, “Exploring Plants: They Are More than Just Food!”) that teaches students to identify the many uses and byproducts of plants. Students explore plant products for human food, animal food, and nonfood/household uses, then research an assigned plant or crop and present their findings to the class in an “Eye Witness News” activity.
