2.2 Niche Products, What Do They Really Mean
This is a middle school agricultural literacy lesson titled “Niche Products, What Do They Really Mean?” (Lesson MS.AS.2.2) from the Animal Science: Production Systems / Pork Checkoff curriculum. Through a jigsaw group activity, students define and research niche animal production terms—certified, free-range, natural, and organic—so they can become more informed consumers. The lesson includes an interest approach, expert-group teaching activity, a Party Host review game, application/FFA/SAE extensions, and a matching assessment.
