2.23 Test and Observe the Effects of a Variety of Lubricants Used in Agriculture
This is Lesson 23 (“Test and Observe the Effects of a Variety of Lubricants Used in Agriculture”) from the Grow Your PALS Program Guide, part of the National FFA Mentoring Program’s Agricultural Mechanics and Technology unit. In this small-group, hands-on lesson, students conduct timed experiments moving gelatin cubes between bowls using different liquids (a control, detergent, water, and vegetable oil) to test and observe how lubricants reduce friction. The lesson reinforces the concepts of friction and lubricants through discussion, application activities, and evaluation questions.
