2.4 Breaking Away From the Frenzy
This middle school lesson, “Breaking Away from the Frenzy” (Lesson MS.AI.2.4) from the Middle School Food and Agricultural Literacy Curriculum, teaches students about the economic impact of disease outbreaks and product recalls on the agricultural industry. Using a DHMO (water) hoax interest approach, students learn to be critical, informed consumers and explore how media frenzy, economic losses, and loss of consumer confidence affect agriculture.
