2.4 Dry and Wet Milling Process

This FFA Renewable Fuels lesson (Unit 2, Lesson 4) teaches students the dry-milling and wet-milling processes used to produce ethanol from corn. Students learn each step of both processes, compare them, and identify the final ethanol product along with its by-products. The lesson uses interactive strategies such as a marshmallow-tower interest approach, the “Little Professor Moment,” a “Go-Get-It Moment,” and an “Eye Witness News Moment,” and concludes with a Venn diagram review and assessment.
