3.1 Fibers and Agriculture
This middle school agricultural literacy lesson (“Fibers and Agriculture,” MS.PS.3.1) teaches students to identify fiber-based agricultural products, distinguishing synthetic fibers from natural fibers and exploring plant-based fibers (cotton, wood products, rope/twine) and animal-based fibers (leather, fur, silk, wool). It includes an interest approach, a “Little Professor” paired teaching activity, a graphic organizer, an extension activity, and a matching assessment.
