3.1 Food Is What Makes the World Go Round
This middle school lesson (MS.FS.3.1, “Food Is What Makes the World Go Round!”) from the Pork Checkoff Food and Agricultural Literacy Curriculum introduces students to food security and the economic impact of local, state, national, and global food products. Through an interest approach, group activities, photo observation, and a “weather report” review, students explore where food comes from and the three pillars of food security: availability, accessibility, and use. The lesson includes an activity sheet, teacher master, and assessment.
