3.1 How to Set Value-Based Goals

This Reaching New Heights leadership lesson (RNH.3.1, “How to Set Value-Based Goals”) introduces students to goal setting and the goal-setting process, including the SMART goals framework and how goals should be built on one’s core values. Students discuss the benefits of and barriers to setting goals, then draft and prioritize their own goals and develop SMART goals across seven areas of life (family/personal, physical/health, mental/intellectual, personal development, career, financial/material, and spiritual).

Purpose
