3.1 Identifying Biotechnology
This is a middle school agricultural literacy lesson (Lesson MS.AST.3.1, “Identifying Biotechnology”) from the Pork Checkoff Middle School Food and Agricultural Literacy Curriculum. Students define biotechnology and identify and categorize examples of agriculture-related biotechnology across four categories: plant, animal, medical, and environmental. The lesson uses interest-approach pictures, collaborative e-Moment activities, and a reflection writing assessment.
