3.10 You’re It Get Fit
This is Lesson 3.10 (“You’re it. Get fit!”) from the National FFA Mentoring Program’s Grow Your PALS Program Guide, focused on exercise. The large-group lesson teaches students about cardiovascular exercise and its benefits, has them design a weekly cardiovascular fitness program (with warm up, cardiovascular exercise, and cool down), and introduces two programs—the President’s Challenge and Project ACES—that encourage students to stay active. It includes an inspirational story about ultra-marathon runner Cliff Young, activity sheets, and a writing assessment.
