4.1 Animal Agricultural Myths
This is a middle school lesson plan (Lesson Number MS.AS.4.1, “Animal Agricultural Myths”) from the Pork Checkoff Middle School Food and Agricultural Literacy Curriculum. Students learn to dispel common myths about animal agriculture—covering cloning, vegetarian diets, animal confinement, animal welfare practices, mad cow disease, bird flu, and swine flu—through a “fact vs. myth” voting game, expert group presentations, and a mock news-report review activity. The lesson also connects the content to the character precept of living with integrity.
