4.1 It’s All in a Label
This middle school lesson (“It’s All in a Label,” Lesson MS.FS.4.1) teaches students how to interpret a Nutrition Facts food label, covering its four parts: serving size, calories, nutrients, and footnotes/%Daily Value. Through a movement-based activity, label note sheet, and label-interpretation exercises, students learn to read and compare the nutritional information on packaged foods. It is part of the Middle School Food and Agricultural Literacy Curriculum (Pork Checkoff).
