4.1 Our Nation’s Commodities

“Our Nation’s Commodities” is a 45-minute middle school agricultural literacy lesson (Lesson MS.IAS.4.1) that teaches students the difference between agricultural commodities and products and explores agriculture at the local, state, and national levels. Through interactive activities (Pictionary, Little Professor, and Hieroglyphics e-Moments) and USDA State Fact Sheets, students identify ten locally grown commodities and the top five commodities in their state and nation.
