4.4 You Are the Scientist

This middle school lesson, “You Are the Scientist!” (MS.NR.4.4) from the Middle School Food and Agricultural Literacy Curriculum, has students take on the role of scientists to collect soil and plant samples, run tests, and interpret the results. Students conduct a hands-on soil pH test using pH strips and explore plant tissue (sap) testing, learning how soil quality and nutrient levels affect plant growth.
