5.2 We Are All in This Together
This is a middle school agricultural literacy lesson (“We Are All in This Together!”, Lesson MS.AS.5.2) on animal welfare and care that teaches the concept of interdependence between humans and animals. Using a Sherlock Holmes-themed “Stolen Mascot” mystery activity that requires teamwork to solve, students learn how domestic animals depend on humans and how human lives are enhanced by animals, then identify five personal examples of their own interdependence with animals.
