6.2 The Impact of Good Practices

This middle school agricultural literacy lesson (“The Impact of Good Practices,” Lesson MS.AS.6.2) teaches students how animal production stewardship positively impacts the environment. Through an interest approach using a wrapped globe, brainstorming activities, “Go Get It” and “Bob the Weather Guy” e-Moments, students learn how proper grazing practices, animal waste used as fertilizer, and animal waste used as a fuel source benefit the environment. The lesson includes activity sheets, teacher transparencies, and an assessment.
