6.3 Reducing Animal Effects on the Environment

This middle school lesson (MS.AS.6.3) from the Food and Agricultural Literacy Curriculum teaches students methods of reducing the effects of animal agriculture on the environment, focusing on waste management (odor control and manure management) and water quality. Through an interest-approach role-play with producer scenarios, a Little Professor cooperative-teaching e-Moment, and a Hieroglyphics review activity, students learn how livestock producers can be good environmental stewards.
