6.4 Building Trust

This is a “Reaching New Heights” leadership development lesson (RNH.6.4, “Building Trust”) that helps students understand the importance of trust and how to build it in their lives. Through discussion, Covey’s Emotional Bank Account metaphor, a blindfold trust-building activity, and a reading of Dr. Seuss’s Horton Hatches the Egg, students explore the concepts of trustworthiness, character, and competence. It includes a student worksheet (RNH.6.4.AS.A) with reflection questions tied to the story.
