7.1 Farmers Love the Land

This is a primary-grade agriculture lesson (“Farmers Love the Land,” Unit 7: Environment) that teaches students about natural resources—water, soil, and air—and how farmers act as stewards of the land to protect them. Through a read-aloud story featuring Maria and the expert “Cob,” class discussion, an activity sheet, and a hands-on “dirt cake” application, students learn the importance of these resources and how to define natural resources.
