7.5 Mathematical Concepts in Natural Resource Stewardship

This middle school lesson (MS.NR.7.5) from the Food and Agricultural Literacy Curriculum has students apply math concepts to natural resource stewardship by solving real-world word problems involving recycling, water conservation, fuel use, and waste reduction. Using a “Go Get It” activity, students work in groups to travel the school and solve five stewardship-themed math problems presented by staff members. Includes student activity sheets, transparency masters, an interest approach, and an evaluation with answer keys.
