8.1 Careers in Agriculture

This upper-elementary lesson, “Careers in Agriculture” (Unit 8: Careers, part of the Food for America series), teaches students that agriculture involves far more than farming by introducing the eight categories of agricultural careers and the many jobs within each. Students explore one career in depth—an agricultural pilot—through a story, and then interview someone working in an agricultural career. Activity sheets support identifying career categories, reading about an ag pilot, and conducting a career interview.
