8.1 The Process of Producing
A middle school agricultural literacy lesson (“The Process of Producing,” Lesson MS.IAS.8.1) in which students explore the four sectors of the agriculture industry—production, manufacturing, marketing, and service. Through group activities, brainstorming, and a creative nursery-rhyme exercise, students define each sector, identify examples, and examine consumer-related concerns as products move from raw commodity to grocery store shelf.
