8.7 Exploring Careers in Agriculture

This middle school lesson, “Exploring Careers in Agriculture” (Lesson MS.IAS.8.7) from the Middle School Food and Agricultural Literacy Curriculum, introduces students to the breadth of agricultural career opportunities. Students distinguish between a career and a job, explore the eight AFNR career clusters, and identify careers within each through interactive group activities, picture-matching, and personal reflection. The lesson includes activity sheets, transparencies, and an assessment in which students list careers by pathway and reflect on a career of interest.
