9.1 Agriculture Through the Centuries

This Food for America lesson (Unit 9: History and Social Development, “Agriculture through the Centuries”) teaches elementary students how agriculture has changed over time, from early hunter-gatherers through key inventions and into modern mechanized farming. Students read first-person story handouts set in three time periods, then write and share their own story about farm life today.
