Advocacy: Agricultural Advocacy – Through the Eyes of a Farmer

A short FFA lesson plan in which students watch the video “Why I Farm- Sonny Beck” and complete the “Through the Eyes of a Farmer” worksheet to analyze it as an example of agricultural advocacy. Students identify characteristics of effective advocacy messages and reflect on how to improve their own advocacy efforts. It can serve as a standalone activity or as part of a unit on advocacy, agriculture issues, or production agriculture.
