Through a video on a ctenophore SAE, worksheets, and an assessment, students learn what a supervised agricultural experience (SAE) is, how agriscience research qualifies as an SAE, and how to develop components of a proficiency award application.

Ctenophore SAE

Grace Ramcke and Hannah Colonese, seniors at the Sound School, share their supervised agriculture experience. Their project focuses on using bioluminescence to monitor brain patterns in PTSD patients. After facing initial setbacks, they improved their system with expert guidance. They highlight the value of starting an SAE early and how this experience enhances their future careers in marine life, enjoying the hands-on work with the fish.
