Lesson 1: Sustainability – Making Our Actions Stand the Test of Time
This lesson, “Sustainability – Making our Actions Stand the Test of Time” (TCTL.3.1), helps students define sustainability as it applies to influence and service, exploring how influence can endure over the long term rather than being a single activity. Through a weight-holding endurance activity, the fable of “The Tortoise and the Hare,” and worksheets, students investigate examples of personal and chapter service activities and brainstorm ways to make them more sustainable.
