Lesson 1 – Tools, Technologies and Innovative Work Practices in Agriculture

This is Lesson 1 of the “Assistive Technology for Rural Youth” curriculum from the Breaking New Ground Resource Center at Purdue University (National AgrAbility Project). The lesson introduces students to the role of tools, technologies, and innovative work practices in making farmers and ranchers more productive, and shows how these tools can benefit and present safety considerations for farmers and ranchers with disabilities. It uses a PowerPoint presentation, video clips, discussion questions, and examples from “The Toolbox CD” of assistive products.
