Lesson 3: Sustainable Leadership – Characteristics That Make It Last
This lesson, part of the “Today’s Challenges; Today’s Leaders: Real World Conversations for the Classroom” series, helps students identify the characteristics of sustainable leadership. Through a personal-story discussion of items that last versus those that don’t, students connect those traits to leadership and create a visual representation (such as a Greek temple graphic organizer) of the key characteristics: character, values based, sustainable action plan, time management, persistence/accountability, and adaptability.
