Lesson 5: Breaking Down Barriers

“Breaking Down Barriers” is a 60-minute leadership lesson from the Today’s Challenges; Today’s Leaders curriculum (TCTL.4.5) designed to change perceptions and break down social barriers. Through grouping activities based on traits like birth order, number of siblings, and desired education level, students explore the similarities and differences among classmates, learning that a single shared trait does not justify generalizations and that appreciating diversity is important to success.
