Lessons 4 and 5 – Creating an Agricultural Issues Presentation

This is a two-day substitute teacher lesson plan (Lessons 4 and 5 in the Current Events series) in which students individually create an agricultural presentation to inform an audience about a local, national, or global agricultural issue. Over two 50-minute periods, students draft their presentation on paper using the LifeKnowledge Magic Formula for speeches, then enter and finalize it in a word processing program, with optional presentations to the class. Includes Activity Sheet 1.6 covering speech structure (Opening, Body, Closing) and the Magic Formula (Connection, Preview, Point, Support, Application).
