Nicole Ford – Louisville Zoo SAE

This FFA lesson plan, “All About the Animals,” accompanies a short SAE video featuring Nicole, a student volunteering at the Louisville Zoo. Through a series of worksheets, students learn the steps of a volunteer-based supervised agricultural experience (SAE), research local volunteer opportunities, complete a mock application, and develop mock interview questions.

Louisville Zoo SAE

Nicole Ford, an 11th grader from the Seneca FFA chapter in Louisville, Kentucky, volunteers at the Louisville Zoo, where she cleans animal habitats and educates guests. Through her experience, she overcomes shyness and enhances her communication skills, thanks to support from her parents and mentor. Nicole aspires to become an exotic veterinarian and aims to attend veterinary school, sharing her positive experiences and interactions with others.
