Planning Guide – Elected Officials

This is an FFA “Steps to Effective Advocacy” Planning Guide focused on Elected Officials. It walks individual FFA members or small groups step-by-step through the Agricultural Literacy and Advocacy model (Plan, Develop, Do, Reflect) to create and facilitate an educational visit with elected officials that shares the importance of agricultural education and FFA. The guide includes guiding questions, brainstorming prompts, and nine reproducible resource handouts (SMART goals, advocacy plan, Friend-O-Meter, elevator speeches, project timeline, SWOT analysis, social media tips, press release, and review/adapt evaluation).
