Progressive Potato Relay
This Food for America demonstration plan, “Progressive Potato Relay,” is a hands-on outdoor relay activity for the History and Social Development unit. Through three timed rounds in which students gain new “tools” (lunch bags, then buckets) to move potatoes faster, students experience how agriculture has become more time- and labor-efficient over history and learn that agriculture is the foundation of every civilization.
