Raymond Pan – Recycling

This resource is a set of two student worksheets focused on recycling in agriculture. The first worksheet (“Stepping Up”) has students watch a video about Raymond Pan’s recycling SAE and answer questions about his project, responsibilities, motivations, challenges, and recycling best practices. The second worksheet (“The Agricultural Plastic Problem”) guides students through suggested online resources to investigate agricultural plastics—what they are, why they are popular, why they are difficult to recycle, and possible solutions.

Raymond Pan’s Journey in Recycling and FFA

Raymond Pan shares his journey from Athens, Georgia, focusing on his Supervised Agricultural Experience in recycling. Motivated by a state convention, he emphasizes recycling’s role in reducing landfill waste. Despite initial challenges, he gained support from his teacher and involved more people. Joining FFA reconnects him to his agricultural roots, and he values the skills learned, such as teamwork. Participating in events like the state convention brings him joy and fulfillment.
