#SpeakAg DIalogues | Why is U.S. technology more efficient in agriculture compared to other countries?

A panel of agriculture experts discusses why U.S. farmers remain among the most productive in the world, attributing this success to long-term investments in agricultural research, extension, infrastructure, and public-private partnerships, while measuring productivity as output relative to inputs. The panelists warn that rising global competition, gene editing breakthroughs from countries like China, and uncertain regulatory policies threaten America’s competitive edge, and they stress the importance of innovation, diversifying consumer demand, and exporting agricultural knowledge. They conclude by urging better communication about agricultural science and call on young FFA and 4-H leaders to help tell agriculture’s story and build public trust.
