Beyond the Blue: Christiana Borst

The National FFA Organization prepares members to be successful not only in FFA, but in life. Christiana Borst is an excellent example of the young leaders FFA has helped build.

Working in Dairy

As of 2024, New York State is the fifth largest dairy state in our nation, and the industry is the largest agriculturally in the state. A large industry like this needs strong, young leaders to bring it to further success in the future.

As New York State Associate Dairy Ambassador, Borst is working diligently to build the dairy industry, and educate the rest of New York about the importance of dairy. Borst is a senior at McGraw High School, and is an active member of her FFA chapter.

New York State Associate Dairy Ambassador

Borst recently took on this role, but is already enjoying her time in the position. As of right now, her biggest duty is being a primary spokesperson for the dairy industry. Creating up to six social media posts per day, Borst is doing her job to educate New York about dairy in their state.

While Borst does not come from an agricultural background, she sees this position as an opportunity to represent those like her, who want to learn more about the industry. By finding a place in dairy, Borst feels that she can make the biggest difference, agriculturally, in the dairy industry.

FFA Prepares Young Leaders

Borst is an extremely active New York FFA member. By attending conferences and conventions, FFA has equipped her with the professionalism that New York State Associate Dairy Ambassador entails. Additionally, learning and performing the FFA Creed has taught her public speaking skills under pressure. Borst feels that FFA has built her to be the person she is, and she would not have achieved her position without the skills and qualities FFA has given her.

In the future, Borst either wants to pursue law and politics, where she can advocate for farmers, or become an FFA advisor and provide others with the same experiences she had.
