Lizzie Schafer | 2024 American Star in Agriscience

Lizzie Schafer of the Taylorville FFA chapter in Taylorville, Illinois, is the 2024 American Star in Agriscience. Her award-winning projects focused on bovine reproduction—including synchronizing recipient and donor cattle and identifying cost-effective embryo transfer methods—as well as separating first-calf heifers from the aged cow-calf group to reduce death loss and respiratory illness. She credits her parents, advisors, and FFA mentors for their support and plans to study animal science and agriculture communications at Kansas State University to promote agriculture nationally.
