Shane Mueller | 2016 American Star in Agribusiness

Shane Mueller of Garretson, South Dakota, is the 2016 American Star in Agribusiness winner for the custom hay-baling business he built from the ground up. Recognizing high demand for smaller square bales, he bought his first baler off Craigslist in high school and grew his client base from three to seven while learning budgeting, forecasting, marketing, and quality control. A member of the Garretson FFA chapter led by his father, Ed, Shane continues to expand by renting area fields to keep up with demand.
