Brett Peterson | 2016 American Star in Agricultural Placement

Brett Peterson of Murdock, Minnesota is the 2016 American Star in Agricultural Placement winner for his work at his family’s Peterson Farms. Starting as a seventh grader sweeping the shop floor, he climbed to oversee the farm’s sugar beet production and now works across all areas of the 6,200-acre operation, even earning his pilot’s license to field scout from the air. A member of the Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg FFA chapter, he studies farm operations management at Ridgewater Community and Technical College and aims for partial ownership of the farm.
